The existing Universal Radio Ttining Unit, Database Transfer Unit and the Universal Loran C sensor were retained. This installation was accomplished using Jet Aviation drawings, FIVIS98001, FMS98002 and IPB98001, Rev. IR, dated 01/20/98 are substantiated by FAA Forms 8110-3, dated 03/11/98 submitted by FAA D.E.R. Mr. Norman J. Curran, FAA D.E.R. No. SO-780. The structural installation of 'the GPS antennas was accomplished using Jet Aviation Drawing HPA98001, Rev. A, dated 03/02/98 and is _structurally substantiated by FAA Form 8110-3, dated 03/12/98 submitted by Lauren Napier, D.E.R. No. SO-815. -The CDU's replaced the removed units at the same station using the existing DZUZ rails installed by the airframe manufacture. The Navigation Computer Units replaced the existing UNS-1A NCU's using the same mounting technique and hardware. The required annunciators were furnished and installed. The following annunciators were installed: MSG (message) annunciator, color amber WPT (wayoint) annuciator, color amber APPR (approach), color white SX (parallel track), color amber HDG (heading), color blue INTEG (integrity) color amber The above annunciators were installed in each instrument panel for their associated system. The existing No. 4 airdata computer was interfaced to provide the required airspeed input and baro- corrected altitude. The existing Honeywell Laser-ref INS system was interfaced as a blended sensor as well as the existing Loran C sensor. The No. 1 compass system is interfaced to the No. 1 FMS and the No. 2 compass system is interfaced to the No. 2 FMS. This system, the Universal Avionics UNS-1D FMS system has been previously installed and 'has obtained a STC approval in another type of aircraft, which qualifies this installation as a follow on installation per AC 20-130A and is qualified for FAA Form 337 Field Approval. The Static Loading of the installed equipment meets the requirements of AC 43.13-2A, Chapter 1, Paragraph 3 and was found to meet the requirements of Paragraph 2. Materials and practices comply with Paragraphs 4 through 12. The Electrical Load Analysis was performed in accordance with 43.13-1A, Chapter 11, Section 2, Paragraph 424 and was found to meet the requirements of paragraph 424, 426 and 428. Aircraft Metal Work involving metal repair or alteration complies with AC 43.13-1A, Chapter 2, Section 1 and 3, Chapter 6, Paragraphs 248 and 249. Hardware and materials used the installation conform to AC 43.13-1A, Chapter 5 and 7, Sections 1, 4 and 5 as applicable. Circuit Breakers, switches and connectors are of the type recommended by the aircraft manufacture or are MIL SPEC approved for aircraft use and meet the requirements of AC 43.13-1A, Chapter 11, Paragraphs 429 and 430. The aircraft static wicks and control surface bonding was tested per the manufacture's maintenance manual and no discrepancies were noted. The UNS-1D FMS systems were functionally tested and no discrepancies were noted. The UNS-1D FMS systems do not interfere with any other installed system and all of the existing systems do not interfere with the UNS-1D FMS systems. Magnetic direction indicators were checked for accuracy and compensated as necessary per AC 43.13-1A, Chapter 16, Section 5, Paragraphs 927, 928 and 929 and AC 43.13-2A Chapter 2, Paragraph 23f. The Equipment List was amended and the new Weight and Balance was computed and entered in the aircraft records IAW AC 43.13-1A, Chapter 13, Paragraphs 659 and AC 43.13-2A, Chapter 1 Paragraph 9. The UNS-1D systems have been show to meet the requirements of VFR11FR flight en route, RNAV, terminal, over water, in remote areas and for approach modes per AC 20-130A according to the limitations indicated in the aircraft flight manual supplement.
