Internal DOJ email from April 2019 showing FBI Florida requesting permission to share grand jury materials from the original Epstein case with SDNY prosecutors, revealing inter-agency coordination in the lead-up to Epstein's July 2019 arrest.
This April 2, 2019 email between U.S. Attorney's Office personnel discusses FBI Florida's request to transfer grand jury materials from the original Epstein investigation to SDNY prosecutors. The email shows federal agencies coordinating on sharing evidence under Rule 6(e), which governs grand jury secrecy, and deliberating whether to route the request through the Criminal Division Chief or the Office of the Deputy Attorney General (ODAG). This document provides insight into the behind-the-scenes preparation that occurred approximately three months before Epstein was indicted and arrested by SDNY in July 2019.

From: To: (USANYS)" Cc: (USANYS)" I Subject: Epstein Date: Tue, 02 Apr 2019 18:13:59 +0000 Importance: Normal FBI Florida wants us to obtain the consent of SDLF for FBI to turn over to us all the grand jury materials they have from the original Epstein case (we already obtained some files without them raising this issue, but now they have). Sharing grand jury material between different federal grand juries is specifically approved in Rule 6(e), and we have done this before with a letter acknowledgement, so this shouldn't be an issue. The question is whether we should have contact their crim chief on this issue (since the last contact was Lisa to the crim chief), or have ODAG coordinate. Let us know what you think?
