Who is Nancy in the Epstein files?

There is no single Nancy. The name covers several unrelated people. The best-documented are Nancy Howley, assistant to David Gergen at Harvard's Kennedy School, who scheduled meetings with Epstein's assistant Lesley Groff in 2011-2013, and Nancy Fan, who arranged a January 2016 call with Epstein. Others include a bank employee named Nancy Bruno and well-known people such as Nancy Reagan and Nancy Pelosi, who are mentioned in passing.

Does Nancy appear in Epstein's flight logs?

Entries reading only "NANCY" appear in flight manifests dated January 1993, December 1996 and November 1999. They give no surname, so the documents do not show who these passengers were. They should not be linked to Nancy Howley, Nancy Fan or anyone else without further evidence.

What was Nancy Howley's role in the emails with Epstein's office?

She was David Gergen's assistant at Harvard's Center for Public Leadership. In the emails, Lesley Groff and Howley coordinate calendars and logistics: when Gergen could meet Epstein in Cambridge, who would join, and Gergen's December 2012 stay on St. John. The messages are administrative. Howley writes on Gergen's behalf and does not appear as a principal.

Who is Nancy Fan and what was the "Crown" call?

Nancy Fan appears in January 2016 emails with Lesley Groff, in which she proposes times for a call between Epstein and a party referred to as "Crown." The emails say nothing about the purpose of the call, so the files don't show what it concerned.

Do the files show wrongdoing by anyone named Nancy?

No. The Nancys with the clearest roles are assistants and a bank employee handling routine scheduling and account questions. Nothing in the documents describes any of them taking part in misconduct. Many other mentions are incidental, such as news summaries, an obituary and OCR errors.

Narrated from the AI-generated summary of the documents. Numbers reflect the archive at generation time.

"Nancy" is a first name shared by several unrelated people in the files, not one person. The most substantive group is Nancy Howley, David Gergen's assistant at Harvard, who exchanged scheduling emails with Epstein's assistant Lesley Groff from 2011 to 2013. Another is Nancy Fan, who arranged a call with Epstein in January 2016.

Most of the 492 documents are emails (410), and 38 of them list a Nancy in the From/To/Cc header. Those are mainly routine scheduling exchanges with Lesley Groff. Nancy Howley coordinated meetings between David Gergen and Jeffrey Epstein, and Nancy Fan arranged a "follow up call with Crown" in January 2016. Other records name different people: a bank employee, Nancy Bruno, in 2002 emails about Epstein's credit cards, and a few bare "NANCY" entries in flight manifests from 1993, 1996 and 1999. The rest are incidental, such as Nancy Reagan and Nancy Pelosi in diary and news items, an obituary, and OCR noise.

Key Highlights

•Nancy Howley signs as "Assistant to David Gergen, Center for Public Leadership, Harvard Kennedy School." Between 2011 and 2013 she exchanged emails with Lesley Groff arranging Gergen's meetings with Epstein. In an April 2012 thread, Groff tells her Epstein agreed to have Michael Zuckerman join, and that Leon Black and Austin Hearst would also attend. Groff also coordinated with her on Gergen's December 2012 trip to St. John.
•In a July 2013 email, a Howley colleague writes "We will miss you Nancy!!" and welcomes her successor, Monet Banihashem. The Gergen-side scheduling contact therefore changed hands that month.
•In January 2016, Nancy Fan and Lesley Groff exchanged emails about a "Follow up call with Crown." Fan proposed times for Epstein on February 1 and 2, 2016. The documents show only scheduling logistics.
•A 2002 email chain shows a bank employee, Nancy Bruno, writing to Arlene Girten about Epstein's accounts. Girten asks "Does he have any other borrowings with us other than his credit cards?" and the reply is "No other loans - just deposits." These records carry protective-order stamps and appear in financial-records documents.
•Flight manifests dated 1993-01-08, 1996-12-12 and 1999-11-28 each list only "NANCY," with no surname. The files do not say whether these are the same person or connect them to any of the Nancys above, so no identification should be assumed.
•A 2017 letter about re-registering Plan D, LLC's Gulfstream G550 as N212JE is addressed to "Ms Nancy" at the FAA Registry. This is a different person, and the file shows only an administrative request.
•Several mentions are unrelated public figures or noise: Nancy Reagan in a diary-style piece, Nancy Pelosi in a political news summary, a funeral-home obituary, and a personal email about a dining room. None indicates a connection to Epstein.
