Watch: Mira Bach in the Epstein files
1:16Narrated from the AI-generated summary of the documents. Numbers reflect the archive at generation time.
Mira Bach appears in the files as the spouse and travel companion of cognitive scientist Joscha Bach. She is copied on, or writes in, dozens of 2014–2017 emails in which Jeffrey Epstein's assistant Lesley Groff arranges the Bach family's Lufthansa flights between the US and Europe. The files show logistics and no wrongdoing by her.
Nearly all of the 141 documents are emails, and 66 of them list her in the From, To or Cc header. The most common thread is Lesley Groff sending itineraries, invoices and ticket PDFs (including one issued in the name 'BACH/MIRA MARIA') to Joscha Bach with Mira copied. She also writes directly to Groff in a few emails, including one from December 2014 about flight changes while Joscha was at the Chaos Computer Congress. Two non-email records are check images with a memo line reading 'Joscha and Mira Bach', drawn on the accounts of Seckendorf Hasson & Reilly CPA's LLC. Her signature block reads 'Mira Voigt | stage design and illustration', so the files appear to connect her to a separate Mira Voigt entry.
Key Highlights
- •Mira is in the header of 66 emails, mostly as a Cc on flight bookings handled by Lesley Groff between December 2014 and October 2017.
- •In December 2014 she emailed a travel contact directly about rebooking flights, and Groff then forwarded separate invoices and itineraries for Joscha and for 'Mira Maria Bach' for a 21 January 2015 trip.
- •A May 2017 thread has Groff asking Joscha for clarification about who needed which June and summer flights, with Mira copied on every message. Itineraries came back on Lufthansa routes between Boston and Frankfurt, such as LH422.
- •In a December 2016 schedule-change thread for a ticket in Mira's name, Joscha asked Groff to change the booking and Groff replied that she had received the request.
- •A June 2015 email from Joscha to Richard Kahn, with Mira copied, discusses paying a 'second rate' (installment) after a first payment. The visible text does not say what the payment was for.
- •In May 2015 Mira forwarded Groff a confirmation for 'Intersection 2015'.
- •A 2016 note under her name thanks someone for Premium Economy seats on a trip. She wrote that she hoped the recipient's family would 'find time to enjoy the summer together'.
- •Two check images carry the memo 'Joscha and Mira Bach' and the name of the accounting firm Seckendorf Hasson & Reilly CPA's LLC. They are the only substantive non-email records.
