Who is Christine Maxwell in the Epstein files?

She is Ghislaine Maxwell's older sister and a technology and publishing entrepreneur. Her strongest presence in the files is a set of 2002–2003 emails to Ghislaine about business ideas, introductions and investments. She also appears in FBI emails listing Ghislaine's siblings, in records naming her as a trustee of Angara LLC, and in guest or contact lists. The files do not show her doing anything related to Epstein's crimes.

Did Christine Maxwell communicate with Jeffrey Epstein?

The direct emails in the files are between Christine and Ghislaine Maxwell. Christine is named in an email to Epstein about people who helped with a website project and were not paid, and in invitee or contact lists that circulated in his correspondence. Beyond these, the documents show no direct exchange between her and Epstein. Most of the 39 documents that mention both of them are shared lists or forwards.

What were Christine and Ghislaine Maxwell emailing about?

The emails are mainly about business and family matters. Christine pitched a spelling-dictionary publishing venture, asked Ghislaine for contacts, thanked her for a Christmas gift and for helping with an introduction, and described a small investment opportunity in a company referred to as ISS. She also arranged a New York visit.

What is the Angara LLC connection?

A financial record describes a document filed with the Suffolk County Registry of Deeds in Massachusetts for "Angara, LLC". It names Christine Maxwell, Scott Borgerson and Jeffrey W. Roberts as trustees. A related 2019 email about a quarterly distribution was sent to her and to Ghislaine's address. The files do not on their own establish the full purpose or ownership of these entities.

Why does she show up alongside names like Stephen Hawking, Marc Rich or Eric Trump?

These shared-document counts probably come from long lists of names that appear in many copies of the same forwarded emails. They should not be read as evidence that she had a relationship with those people.

Is Christine Maxwell accused of wrongdoing in these documents?

No. The documents do not accuse her of anything. She is mentioned as a sibling, as a business contact of her sister, as a trustee, and as a name on lists.

Narrated from the AI-generated summary of the documents. Numbers reflect the archive at generation time.

Christine Maxwell, Ghislaine Maxwell's older sister, appears in about ten emails she exchanged directly with Ghislaine in 2002–2003. They cover family and business matters such as a dictionary publishing proposal and an investment pitch. She also appears in later records about a family-linked LLC and trust, and in FBI emails listing Ghislaine's siblings.

The clearest material is direct correspondence between Christine and Ghislaine Maxwell. In it Christine asks for introductions, pitches a spelling-dictionary publishing venture, and promotes an investment opportunity connected to "ISS". A financial record and a 2019 email show her as a trustee, with Scott Borgerson and Jeffrey W. Roberts, of an LLC called Angara, and as a recipient of a trust distribution notice. FBI emails from July 2020 list her first among Ghislaine Maxwell's siblings. Most of her remaining appearances (roughly 60 of 71 documents) are emails that repeat the same guest or invitee lists and background-research lists that include her name. The records show her as a family member and business contact. They do not show her taking part in Epstein's activities.

Key Highlights

•About ten emails are direct correspondence between Christine and Ghislaine Maxwell, dated 2002–2003. Subjects include a dictionary publishing lead, a request to "pull a name out of your rolodex", a thank-you for a Christmas gift and for "waving your connection wand", a "special mini-investment" option in ISS, and a visit to New York. Some of these emails carry placeholder dates such as "Jan 4501", which is a metadata artifact.
•A "Perfect Spelling Dictionary Series" publishing proposal dated March 2003 is credited to Christine Maxwell. A separate document describing ISS corporate partners calls her a "Visionary Designer of Internet Technologies".
•A financial record and a July 2019 email identify Christine Maxwell as one of three trustees of Angara LLC, with Scott Borgerson and Jeffrey W. Roberts. In the 2019 email, Borgerson replies to Roberts, with Christine and Ghislaine's address copied, about a "Quarterly Distribution" for a Montpelier-related trust.
•FBI emails dated July 1, 2020, titled "Ghislaine Maxwell Siblings", list Christine first, followed by Isabel, Karine (deceased), Anne and others. They appear in many copies across the files.
•Christine's name appears in a list of invitees or potential guests alongside scientists, entrepreneurs and public figures such as James Cameron, Dean Kamen, Brock Pierce and Jeffrey Lehman. The list recurs in many forwarded copies, and a companion document links to a profile page for her. The documents here do not show whether she was invited, attended, or had any contact with Epstein.
•In an email to Epstein, a list of people involved in a website project includes "Christine Maxwell (not paid)" next to Isabel Maxwell and Al Seckel. A contractor who was paid $25,000 is listed separately.
•A news-style article in the files describes her as a hard-to-trace sibling who is thought to be based in the US or France and works as an internet entrepreneur.
