From VA545300, = .016, t. = .032 and t, = .30. h = .016/2 + .03212 + .30 = .324 in - = V hb = 11.25 / .324(1.0) = 34.7 lbs/in2 From the certification sheet shown at the end of this analysis, the allowable lap shear for the FM 73 adhesive is 6,523 psi at 75° F. Since there is no test data readily available for this adhesive system for core bond, e comparison of this adhesive system will be made to EA9649R (RMS 058). From figure 3.3.2 of Reference 2, aluminum core and face sheet with EA9649R adhesive has an allowable of 220 psi for the BP core configuration. Since the lap shear for the repair adhesive is significantly higher than EA9649R (2,838 psi at 75° F), it is reasonable to assume that 34.7 psi core shear Is acceptable for this adhesive system. The repair at the aft end of the fairing is acceptable by inspection since the aerodynamic load is very little to nil at this location. IV.. Ps4/Drain bosses require reinspection within 6000 cycles and at each Engine shop visit. Rear flange requires reinspection within . 12000 cycles and at each Engine shop visit. Case meets inspection requirements of Part III of P&W ASB 6228. Continue timed combustion chambers. Complied with P&W Alert S/B 5729R2 and AD 87-14-01 R1; immersion ultrasonic inspect C2 fan blades. Complied with P&W Alert 6038R5 and AD 94-20-01; corrosion inspect high pressure compressor disks. Complied with Pratt & Whitney Alert S/B 6196R5; #5 bearing seal assembly. Improved oil return & compartment sealing configuration. Complied with P&W Alert S/B 6110 and Alert S/B 6131, AD 94-20-08. This terminates -reinspection requirements for P&W Alert S/B 5913R6, AD 93-06-05. Engine was preserved forshort term storage IAW Pratt & Whitney JTSD Engine Manual (P/N 481672).
