Discrepancy: The outer skin of the upper skin assembly of the aft fairing is disbonded and the aft edge of the outer skin has two cracks. See sketch below from ERDS. I!. Proposed Disposition: Remove the outer skin of the upper skin assembly and bond on a new outer skin using FM 73 adhesive and BR.127..adhesive primer. The cracks at the aft edge have been reported to be along a previous repair that was filled with a fiberglass patch repair. The fiberglass patch will be removed and replaced with a metallic patch and doubler. All metallic materials will be the same as BP materials. III. Static Analysis: The aft fairing is analyzed in section 10 of Reference'. In section 10 of Reference ', the substructure has been analyzed to withstand all the aerodynamic loading without using any of the skin as affective. Therefore, this analysis will only investigate the capability of the adhesive to carry the shear stress to the core conservatively assuming that the skin will carry the aerodynamic loading. strut Stress Analysis (VA-CR1 54 Rev.
