A finalized autopsy report of EPSTEIN, Case No. M-19-019432, from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York (OO4E) was provided to investigators. According to the OCME autopsy report, the cause of death of EPSTEIN was hanging and the manner of death was suicide (hanged self). Further investigation resulted in the charging of two correctional officers at the Metropolitan Correctional Center with Title 18, United States Code, Sections 1001(a)(3) and 2 (False Records) and Title 18, United States Code, section 371 (Conspiracy).
