Failure to Reassign a Cellmate • Epstein's cellmate left for Court at 8:00 a.m. on August 9. There were 9 guards and at least 3 supervisors on duty in the SHU that day who should have realized that Epstein did not have a cellmate. • We are investigating what happened. • At 6:45 p.m., Epstein returned from an attorney conference. • At 7:18 p.m., he was permitted to make an unrecorded, 17-minute phone call.
