Email correspondence from April 2021 between federal prosecutors and Jeffrey Epstein's estate attorneys regarding attorney-client privilege claims over seized electronic devices.
This is an email exchange between Assistant United States Attorney from the Southern District of New York and Marc A. Weinstein, Chair of White Collar Defense at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, who represented Epstein's estate. The prosecutor seeks clarification on whether the estate is asserting attorney-client privilege over a computer seized by Palm Beach Police from Epstein's residence in 2005, in addition to devices seized by the FBI in 2019 from his New York and USVI properties. The correspondence reveals ongoing legal negotiations about access to Epstein's electronic devices as part of the federal investigation, with prosecutors having established a firewall team to conduct privilege reviews.

From: To: , "Weinstein. Marc A." .. 11 Cc: Subject: RE: following up Date: Fri. 09 Apr 2021 14:29:28 +0000 Marc and Andy, I'm writing to ask for one point of clarification regarding the estate's position regarding the assertion of attorney-client privilege. You previously conveyed to us that the estate asserted privilege with respect to devices the FBI seized from Jeffrey Epstein's residences in New York and the USVI in 2019. We accordingly assembled a firewall team to conduct a privilege review of the contents of those devices. The FBI is also in possession of a computer that the Palm Beach Police Department seized from Epstein's residence in Palm Beach in 2005, which our office has not reviewed. Is the estate also asserting privilege with respect to devices such as this one that were seized in Florida in 2005?
