This is a June 2, 2021 Second Circuit Court of Appeals order denying Ghislaine Maxwell's motion for pretrial release and request for an evidentiary hearing on her confinement conditions.
The single-page order was issued by a three-judge panel (Circuit Judges Pierre N. Leval, Raymond J. Lohier, Jr., and Richard J. Sullivan) during Maxwell's criminal proceedings. Maxwell had renewed her request to be released from custody before trial and alternatively requested the case be sent back to the district court for a hearing about the conditions of her detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The Government opposed both requests, and the appellate court denied the motion in its entirety.
