We spoke about a year or so back — and were going to meet in Dubai, but never did. I am doing a story for the Times (for tomorrow's paper) about the debt troubles Istithmar has. I know this is a sensitive time but I just wanted to run a few things by you in case you wanted to address any of them. I gather there is no official figure for your debt burden, but in talking to some people familiar with your finances, I have been given a figure of about $ billion. I will also be saying that the value of your equity holdings is now less than your debt. People who have worked there say that there was little discipline in the investment process and that investments were made in the "hot fads that came through town."
