An internal DOJ email from August 2020 transmitting the draft Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) report on the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida from 2006-2008.
This document is an email exchange between the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York dated August 6, 2020. The email transmits a cover letter from the OPR Director along with a draft of the highly anticipated OPR report investigating how federal prosecutors in Florida handled the Jeffrey Epstein case. This report would later become the controversial 350-page investigation that concluded prosecutors exercised 'poor judgment' but did not commit professional misconduct when they negotiated the 2008 non-prosecution agreement that allowed Epstein to avoid federal charges.
