An August 2019 internal email exchange between SDNY prosecutors and victim attorneys coordinating travel arrangements for Epstein victim interviews, just days before his death on August 10, 2019.
This document is a confidential internal email chain from August 13, 2019, showing coordination between Colleen Mullen, a victim's attorney, and SDNY prosecutors regarding travel logistics for witness interviews in the Jeffrey Epstein case (19 Cr. 490). The email reveals bureaucratic friction about how to bring witnesses to New York for interviews following Epstein's indictment, with a prosecutor noting that without an open indictment, investigators would need to travel to victims rather than flying them in. This exchange occurred just three days after Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell on August 10, 2019, illustrating the immediate post-death scramble to continue victim interviews.

I can only bring people in for al, pretrial, trial and sometimes pre al. For the last three witnesses it was pre-trial. But that was when we had an open indictment. If you are interviewing more people in an investigation you are going to have to travel to them. I am not giving anyone a hard time I just need to follow the rules. Please let me know.
