We just published, in Proceeding of the National Academy of Sciences, =he first experimental verification that people can have placebo =esponses without any conscious awareness of any environmental cues. =(I'm attaching.) We think this is an important proof-of-concept that =pens many new doors in research. We already have replicated the study =ith the addition of neuroimaging the subjects and are analyzing the =ata. We're excited. Also, we have just had the genetic findings I discussed in the spring =ccepted in PloS One. (I'm not attaching because it is "quarantined" =ut if you'd like to see i can send.) While this study is a first =tep, we're very existed because we were able to get the genetics =nalyzes from one of the largest randomized controlled trials ever =erformed and were able to positively replicated this finding. We =riting up this data now. Finally, I wanted to tell you that the Pioneer Fund of Robert Wood =ohnson Foundation has given us a $250,000 grant towards educating the =edical community and health care policy makers concerning placebo =ffects.
