On Thursday, October 9, The Kitchen Chicago is opening its doors for the first time to host a benefit in support of Learning Gardens in Chicago schools. Learning Gardens are catalysts for community-wide improvements in childhood nutrition, socialization, and student achievement. We provide STEM education support and facilitate experiential learning outdoors as an extension of the classroom. In December of 2013, The Kitchen Community planted its 100th Learning Garden in Chicago, and is now reaching over 60,000 students. We hope to plant 25 more Learning Gardens during the 2014-15 school year to reach an additional 15,000 students. We can't do it alone; please join our community of supporters!
