As source material and technical analyses verify, it was cast from the famous wax sculpture we know today prior to its considerable reworking. As a consequence, the Little Dancer is being seen for the first time in its revolutionary original conception, which caused a great sensation with its first presen- tation at the sixth Impressionist exhibition of 1881.
