Beckham, Jr. Karen Podhurst Dern Of Counsel Dear Judge Davis: As the Attorney Representative appointed by you as Special Master in September of 2008, and as agreed upon by both the United States Attorney's Office ("USAO") and Defendant Jeffrey Epstein ("Defendant"), pursuant to the Non-Prosecution Agreement ("NM") between the USAO and the Defendant, I am writing to inform you of the following: My team of attorneys contacted eighteen victims listed by the USAO as contemplated by the NPA. Fifteen other victims on the USAO's list of thirty-three bad obtained other counsel. Of those eighteen victims we contacted, fifteen have been represented by my team in their civil matters resulting from the Defendant's sexual exploitation and abuse. All fifteen of our clients have ultimately resolved their claims against the Defendant. We were contacted by one unlisted victim, whom we represented and whose case was resolved inclusive of fees and costs pursuant to a contingency fee agreement. Despite numerous attempts to obtain reimbursement of the fees and costs incurred in our representation of the fifteen listed victims pursuant to the NPA, the Defendant has failed to pay as agreed.
